Vineyard: The Villero vineyard, facing south/south-west, is located in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto and has an area of just under one hectare. The average age of the vines is 43 years and the density is 4,000 plants per hectare. In the 2012 harvest the wine yield was around 52 hectoliters per hectare. The 2012 harvest was done on October 2nd.
Soil: moderately clayey and compact with the presence of white and bluish marl. Vinification: After 21 days of alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks at a temperature between 28 and 32 degrees Celsius, the wine is immediately decanted into small barrels for malolactic fermentation, after which further aging takes place in 27 hectolitre oak barrels.
It was bottled, without filtration, on July 16, 2015. Of the 2012 vintage, 3,860 bottles were produced, 100 magnums, 5 double magnums.
