The pure and frank expression of the Vertus terroir in a beautiful setting in the middle of the hills. Very original in its salinity and complexity…

This plot of Chardonnay has been vinified separately since 1995. It is the location called Les Barillers located in the middle of the hill in Vertus. This terroir is very particular, delicate, saline and at the same time very complex. The balance is there, you don't need to assemble it!

100% Chardonnay, just one terroir and just one year!

The grapes are delicately pressed and the must lightly deposited directly into the barrel. Natural alcoholic fermentation (indigenous yeasts ) and malolactic fermentation occur spontaneously in Stockinger barrels and vats. The wines are aged there on natural lees for the first year without filtration or fining.

Bottling takes place at the end of July without blending with other vintages – it is a vintage – and without blending with other terroirs – is a plot.

The bottles are lowered into the cool cellars where the second fermentation and refinement on racks takes place peacefully for at least a further 5 years. Each bottle is disgorged manually 6 months before marketing.

This wine is not dosed (no added sugar) to respect its purity until the end.

Ideal champagne to start the meal, its purity delicately accompanies the oysters. The combination with the truffle is very nice. Drink now or keep for 5-10 years.
