CONTRADA S 2019
Contrada Sciaranuova is located at 850m above sea level. The name means "new casting" in Sicilian, indicating the recent geological age of the flow formed just 200 years ago. The wine is deep, with a broad complexion, with a note of fermented hay. The vineyard covers an area of 1 hectare.
A late vintage on Etna, characterized by a decidedly cold spring in the months of April and May, with a timid frost in the days between 6 and 7 May. The cold, without respite, continued until the end of May, causing a significant delay in flowering which lasted until mid-June.
Since the beginning of June we have finally recorded a gradual and constant increase in temperatures so as to favor flowering and subsequent fruit set, more spread this year.
At the end of June we had high temperatures, with peaks close to 40 degrees, which lasted until the end of September, favoring a recovery of the previously accumulated delay, which made it possible to carry out the thinning of the bunches already around 10 August.
Entering the month of October, thanks to a greater temperature range in conjunction with the start of the first quarter of the crescent moon, we have achieved a leap in the phenolic maturity of the grapes. We expect to obtain wines that are not excessively alcoholic, with the right balance and with a sinuously fresh and vertical fruit, characteristics also due to a perfect phasing between technological and phenolic maturity. A year of excellent quality because the rains have quite spared us their hateful interference.
CONTRADA P 2019
Contrada Porcaria is a micro zone of a vast district located at about 650m above sea level, considered one of the most coveted terroirs on Etna due to the particularly rich and luxurious wines it produces; it changes scents constantly, and has an exotic body and an echo of burnt sugars. The earth is made up of a thin layer of lava that crumbles underfoot. The vineyard of this Contrada covers 1.5 hectares.

CONTRADA G 2019
THE VINTAGE
Contrada Guardiola is an ancient district located between 800m and 1000m above sea level, on the edge of a recent 1947 flow which stopped just before the vineyards. From the ancient vineyards we produce a deep and complex wine with a rich hint of red fruits. Only the grapes selected from the oldest vineyards are used for this cru that we started producing in 2011.
