Tasting test: Vintage Tunina has a bright straw yellow color with golden reflections. The perfume is intense, broad, of great elegance and persistence, with hints of honey and wildflowers. It has a dry, soft, very harmonious flavor, with exceptional persistence, due to the particularly full body. It goes well with first truffles, with a great variety of fish dishes, especially baked and with sauces, but it can also be combined with white meats. The memory of his encounter with a fresh salmon pad stuffed with parmesan and artichokes is splendid. (Daniele Cernilli)

Notes: The first tests date back to the 1973 harvest and the first vintage put on sale with this name and this label was the 1975 harvest. Historically, Vintage Tunina starts as a blend of the best grapes that are harvested late, depending on the vintage, about two weeks later the normal harvest on an area of about 16 ha of vineyards cultivated on Ronco del Fortino. The name Tunina refers to the old owner of the land on which the original vineyard is located and is dedicated to Casanova's poorest lover, who was a housekeeper in Venice who was also called Tunina (Antonia). With the 2015 harvest, Vintage Tunina celebrates its first 40 years.

Already in 1979 considered by Luigi Veronelli: "Real Mennea of wines, exciting Cru of the Collio Goriziano", (Pietro Mennea won the 200 meters flat in Mexico City on 12 September 1979 with a time of 19 '72' ', establishing the world record unbeaten for 17 years). With the 1997 vintage, on November 28th 1999, it became wine of the year for the Gambero Rosso Guide: "... and so I thought of adding Tunina to the name of my daughter Sylvia born exactly on the same day ..." the 1998 vintage won the wine Oscar for the Italian Sommelier Association. In 2003 Silvio during a visit to the Abbey of Monreale in Palermo, inspired by the interior decorations of Arab-Norman architecture, enriches the label with a Greek that develops around the hexagon.

In conclusion, we quote a quote from the article by Cesare Pillon which appeared in Civiltà del bere in October 2000 “... but the Vintage Tunina is exceptional in many other ways. No one had ever realized it until now, yet it is the most extraordinary meditation wine that exists. And it is not in a passive sense (wine to drink while meditating), but in an active sense: it is a wine that makes you meditate ... ".
