Position and terrain Manincor and Panholzerhof face south-east with a view of the lake at an altitude of 250 m asl. The generous sandy / clayey soils are mixed with calcareous debris and moraine deposits. These vineyards are among the hottest in the whole region and therefore predestined to produce great red wines. Vintage 2020 brought us an early harvest with good qualities and good quantities. The sprouting was not very early, but a very hot spring and a balanced summer were optimal for the development of the vines, so much so that we started harvesting as early as 25 August. During the harvest, there were repeated phases of rain, but with our quick thinking and our meticulous selection work, we were able to bring excellent qualities to the cellar. From mid-September to mid-October we were able to harvest Merlot, Lagrein and Cabernet Franc one after the other at the best time. The yield per hectare was 53 hl.

Vinification Each batch of grapes from the different plots was processed separately. The fermentation of the crushed grapes took place in wooden vats, partially spontaneously thanks to indigenous yeasts. Maceration lasted ten days, with fulling performed once a day. Aging for 12 months took place in wooden barrels; the wine remained in contact with fine yeasts all the time. Bottling 71,000 bottles

Description and combinations

Intense and brilliant ruby ​​red. Aromas of small red fruits, spicy with hints of licorice, black and white pepper. The impact is intense and thanks to the gentle tannins the consistent structure is enhanced in the center of the mouth and presents an almost burgundy harmony in the finish. It will be at its best from 2022 to the end of 2027. Serving temperature: 16 - 18 ° C It goes well with Mediterranean first courses based on pasta, roasted or grilled red meats.
