Barolo DOCG 2021 – Dominik Weigand (Azienda Agricola 12064)
Dominik Weigand's Barolo 2021 is the expression of a young winemaker who chose the Langa as his home and Nebbiolo as the interpreter of his production philosophy: respect for the terroir, craftsmanship, and honest wines.
Vinification and Ageing
-
Crushing: soft, to preserve the integrity and finesse of the skins.
-
Fermentation: spontaneous in open Tonneau, with long maceration on the skins for 20-30 days, in contact with indigenous yeasts.
-
Malolactic fermentation: carried out in steel tanks.
-
Ageing: 24 months in barrique, for a slow and balanced evolution.
Tasting Notes
-
Colour: deep and brilliant brick red.
-
Aroma: intense and layered, with notes of cherry and plum, sweet spices, vanilla and liquorice, accompanied by more austere and balsamic nuances.
-
Palate: full-bodied and enveloping structure, with elegant and well-integrated tannins. Lively acidity and perfectly balanced alcohol, for a fresh, harmonious, and long sip.
-
Finish: persistent and fruity, with spicy returns.
Style and Philosophy
A Barolo with a classic character but with a modern touch: Dominik enhances the power and structure of Nebbiolo, while maintaining freshness and drinkability. Every sip tells of his young and respectful approach, combining experience gained in the Langhe with a personal vision.
