Champagne Premier Cru Blanc de Noirs "Montchenot" 2019
Nicolas Maillart – Villers-Allerand
Montchenot is a Blanc de Noirs made 100% from Pinot Noir grapes grown in three plots located in the village of Montchenot, a hamlet of Villers-Allerand classified as Premier Cru. This village is located on the border between the Petite and Grande Montagne de Reims, benefiting from a unique geology that combines sand, clay, and chalk, giving the wine a distinctive structure and minerality.
Vinification and Aging
-
Vinification: Mainly in oak barrels, with aging on lees for at least 36 months
-
Dosage: Extra Brut (1 g/l)
-
Malolactic fermentation: Not carried out, to preserve freshness and tension
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it presents a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it offers floral notes of rose, sweet spices like cinnamon, dried cherry, mint, and orange peel. On the palate, it is elegant and refined, with vibrant freshness and a layered complexity that faithfully reflects its terroir.
Recommended Pairings
Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs perfectly with refined fish dishes, crustaceans, white meats, and aged cheeses.
The 2019 Montchenot represents the essence of Nicolas Maillart's philosophy: a pure and authentic expression of Pinot Noir, capable of moving and surprising with every sip.
