Isola dei Nuraghi White Wine "Madrighe" 2024 – Ilaria Addis
"Madrighe" 2024 is the other soul of Ilaria Addis's Vermentino, a wine born in the lowest and most fertile part of the valley, on acidic and granitic soils, from vines planted in 1992. The context is one of radically natural agriculture, without any chemical treatment, not even copper or sulfur, with spontaneous cover cropping managed by sheep and meticulous attention to soil health.
The grapes are hand-harvested in the first week of September, with immediate transport to the shade of the winery. Winemaking follows the same artisanal rigor: destemming and crushing, spontaneous fermentation, and racking after about a day and a half using a traditional hand press.
The wine then ages in steel tanks, where malolactic fermentation also occurs naturally. No fining, no filtration. Only a light sulfiting during maturation. The fine lees are kept in suspension with regular battonage until bottling, which took place at the end of March 2024 without further added sulfites.
"Madrighe" is a more direct, flavorful, and accessible wine compared to the "Sa Mama e su Sole" selection, but no less expressive for it. On the nose, it opens with notes of aromatic herbs, yellow fruit, and wet stone. On the palate, it is rich and immediate, with a citrus freshness that invites a second glass, and a clean and mineral finish.
An artisanal, authentic, straightforward Vermentino, born from an idea of free and uncompromising agriculture.
Limited production: approximately 1300 bottles.
Recommended pairings: seafood appetizers, octopus salads, fresh cheeses, vegetarian first courses.
