Roero Rosso DOCG “Anime” 2022 – Alberto Oggero

“Anime” is the deep and vibrant voice of Roero according to Alberto Oggero. A Nebbiolo born from vines over 80 years old, cultivated in the “Anime” cru, on sandy and clayey soils exposed to the southwest, at an altitude of 320 meters. Here, in the heart of Santo Stefano Roero, Alberto works with absolute respect for the land and its rhythms, allowing each parcel to speak with its own voice.

The winemaking follows a natural and artisanal approach: spontaneous fermentation with only indigenous yeasts, long maceration of about 25 days, no fining or filtration. The wine ages for 14 months in French oak tonneaux and then rests in the bottle for another two years, developing elegance and depth without haste.

In the glass, it presents with a dark and deep garnet color. The bouquet is complex and layered: dried flowers, withered violet, red fruit jams, black pepper, pine needles, wet earth, and a rusty minerality that speaks of the soil from which it originates. The sip is decisive, full-bodied, with a well-present but refined tannicity, balanced by good acidity and a vibrant savoriness.

An authentic and distinctive Nebbiolo, perfect for structured dishes such as mushroom risotto or roasted pork, capable of evolving over time and surprising with its expressive purity.
