Natural Red Wine

“Poco Dopo un Ferragosto” (Shortly After a Mid-August Holiday) is a red wine born from a difficult moment that transformed into a story of resilience. After a violent summer hailstorm that hit the vineyards, Luca Ferrero managed to save part of the grapes and bring this label to life, which today symbolizes the artisan philosophy of Cà del Prete, in Pino d'Asti.

Made from a native red single grape variety, cultivated on calcareous soils with the presence of clay, sand, and silt, it comes from vines over 30 years old grown according to the principles of organic farming. No chemical or synthetic products are used in the vineyard or cellar, in full respect of natural balance.

Harvesting is manual, and fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. The must macerates for about six months in wood and concrete, with 10% whole cluster, a technique that gives complexity and a slight semi-carbonic footprint. The wine is neither filtered nor clarified, to preserve its integrity and identity.

In the glass, it presents an intense and brilliant ruby red color. The aromatic profile recalls ripe red fruits, cherry, sweet spices, and undergrowth. On the palate, it is structured and vibrant, with a well-defined yet elegant tannic texture, supported by freshness and depth. A red with character, sincere and dynamic, combining intensity and drinkability.
