Denomination : Barolo DOCG
Vintage : 2016
Alcohol : 15%
Region : Piedmont (Italy)
Format : 0.75 l
Grapes : Nebbiolo 100%
From Vigna Regnola, a side of Badarina historically planted with Nebbiolo for its excellent exposure and extremely suitable soil. The concentration of the grapes of this particle allows to produce a Badarina of greater structure and power, which follows the vinification of the grapes of the same mention but is proposed after longer refinements, in cask and especially in the bottle. Offered only in the best vintages for this vineyard, in limited quantities.
Vineyard: Vigna Regnola located in Common of Serralunga d'Alba, MGA Badarina.
Exposure: South.
Altitude: 450 m asl.
Soil: white marl with rich presence of limestone, good presence of clays and layers of sandstone (sand cemented to limestone).
Geological formation: Formation of Lequio, about 15 million years. Controspalier rows, simple Guyot pruning.
Harvest : manual in crates. Beginning - mid October.
Careful selection of the grapes in the months preceding the harvest, vinification in purity of Vigna Regnola . Fermentation at controlled temperature and long skin macerations, from 25 to 35 days, sometimes with a submerged cap. Malolactic fermentation in steel and cement, aging for at least 24-30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and some French oak tonneaux, no new woods are used. Bottling in summer and a long refinement in the bottle follows.
