Château Le Puy's Cuvée Emilien, an authentic expression of Bordeaux, emerges from the old vines of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Carménère, all with over 50 years of history. The 2019 vintage, contained in the 75 cl format, represents a hymn to the Bordeaux territory, with a terroir of siliceous clay on a limestone base.

The vineyard, spread over 30 hectares and characterized by a double Guyot type system with a density of 5,000 vines per hectare, reflects an average age of the vines of 50 years. With an average production of 40 hl per hectare, Cuvée Emilien is the result of artisanal vinification which includes destemming, spontaneous fermentation and maceration on the skins with a submerged cap for 2-4 weeks in open concrete vats. This is followed by drawing off and aging in large barrels and used barriques for 24 months.

The total sulfur content of 23 mg/l and the production limited to 150,000 bottles testify to the commitment of JP and P. Amoreau of Château Le Puy. Cuvée Emilien stands out as a frank, fragrant and intense red wine, which masterfully marries opposite concepts of straight and broad, concentrated and delicate, tannic and caressing. A loyal, long and profound experience, it is the most authentic of Le Puy wines, fully representing the Bordeaux spirit.

When you want to celebrate friendship without formality, Cuvée Emilien proves to be an ideal companion. A glass of this wine in one hand and sheep's roasts in the other, combining elegance and rusticity, creates an experience of great sincerity. A moment of authentic sharing, where wine becomes the common thread between the past and the present.
