John Montisci he was a mechanic. Then it was an inheritance that changed his life. It was not a question of a large sum of money, but of a small Cannonau vineyard. Giovanni discovers the taste of the land and the passion for viticulture, and begins to learn the trade under the expert guidance of some old winemakers. Over the years the hobby turns into a job: from bulk to bottled wine, until it appears on the market in the mid-2000s. Today Montisci cultivates just 2 hectares of vines (mainly old, from 50 to 80 years old age!), on the granite terroir of Mamoiada, in the Barbagia di Ollolai. A respectful viticulture, with an organic and biodynamic certification in progress. In the oldest vineyard the ox is still used for weeding.

Work in the cellar is the logical continuation of this natural choice. No selected yeasts, no filtration, no clarification, a very careful and limited use of sulphites. The grapes are destemmed, then ferment spontaneously and macerate for over three weeks, with manual punching down every day.
