Langhe DOC Nebbiolo “Josch” 2023 – Dominik Weigand (Azienda Agricola 12064)
The Langhe Nebbiolo "Josch" 2023 is the freshest and most direct expression of Nebbiolo by Dominik Weigand, a young German winemaker who settled in Roddino with Yvonne di Serafina, where they founded Azienda Agricola 12064. A project that blends contemporary vision and respect for Langhe traditions, with a handcrafted and sustainable production philosophy.
Vinification and Aging
The Nebbiolo grapes are vinified with a maceration of about 6 days in stainless steel tanks, using a natural inoculum from another fermenting wine, to preserve authenticity and vitality. The temperature does not exceed 28 °C, promoting balanced extraction and varietal aromas.
This is followed by 6 months of aging in used barriques, which rounds out the tannins without overpowering the varietal character.
Tasting Notes
-
Color: bright brick red.
-
Nose: aromas of fresh fruit and cherry, with delicate spicy nuances.
-
Palate: harmonious and balanced, with a perfect dialogue between fruity freshness, light spices, silky tannins, and vibrant acidity.
Style and Philosophy
The "Josch" tells the story of Dominik's production philosophy: sincere, lively wines that reflect the terroir without filters or forcing. A young, direct Nebbiolo, immediately drinkable but with the elegance that distinguishes the Langa region.
