Federico Staderini describes it as follows:
The intimate reasons for this wine lie in my youth, in being an agronomist, in the Casentino land crowned with mountains, in the gentleness of its Etruscan people, and finally in its coolness; a substantial thermal mitigation effect, especially at night in summer, which the absolute Pinot Noir grape greatly enjoys.
Maximally, in vibrant finesse and elegance.
In all production choices made since the planting of the 3 hectares in the years 2004-2007, the foundations of science and "techne" have guided the hand in cultivation and the hands and feet in the toil of winemaking, without however, excessive zeal or intrusiveness.
The organic work of the 7 small vineyards Nuc, Pozzo, Fedelone, 2 Fratelli, Querce, Becco and Cuna (Etruscan and cadastral place names), on the white limestones of this ecological niche of ours, joins the sunlight and becomes wine through 7/8 harvests from the "very early" days of September to "late," when it is already October.
By doing so, I try to enhance, from the different vineyards, the multifaceted expressions from the young and nervous berries, those balanced/expressive ones, and even the depth of the late, generously and attenuated ripe grapes.
These latter, already cold from the almost autumn, are invigorated and strengthened by fermentations with all or many of the stems.
Sometimes before, sometimes after, but more often during aging in old Burgundy barrels, these various physiognomies converge towards a choral and expressive unity, where Pinot Noir testifies to the places more than to itself. An honest drink!
