Roero DOCG Bianco “Valle dei Lunghi” 2023 – Alberto Oggero

The “Valle dei Lunghi” is the ancient voice of Arneis, whispered by over 80-year-old vines that are rooted in the sandy and clayey soils of Roero. A timeless and unconventional white wine, born from a deep, artisanal approach, signed by Alberto Oggero, one of the most sensitive interpreters of this territory.

Vinified in cement with spontaneous fermentation and a submerged cap maceration on the skins for about 5-6 days, this Arneis expresses itself with authenticity and character. Maturation continues in cement, to preserve integrity, sapidity, and expressive precision.

In the glass, it presents a veiled straw yellow, a sign of vitality and respect for the raw material. The nose reveals notes of ripe yellow fruit, honey, wildflowers, and herbaceous hints, with a savory texture already perceptible in the olfactory phase. The sip is dry, incisive, and saline, with a pleasantly bitter finish, which distinguishes it from any other interpretation of Arneis.

A wine that excites with its territorial coherence and its ability to convey the essence of Roero. To be enjoyed with fresh cheeses, vegetarian tapas, sautéed vegetables, or stewed seafood main courses.
