Details on the Cellar:

The Domaine de Beaurenard, belonging to the Coulon family for seven generations, looks after with dedication and passion 32 hectares of vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and 25 hectares in Rasteau. Its history can be traced back to 1695, when the land was known as "Bois Renard," then gradually evolved into "Beaurenard." The terroir of Châteauneuf-du-Pape is exceptional, characterized by sun-warmed pebble boulders that radiate widespread heat, promoting the ripening and concentration of the grapes. The average age of the vineyards is 45 years, with yields ranging between 25 and 30 hectoliters per hectare. The red wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape are obtained from the blend of the "13 grape varieties," with a predominance of the Grenache grape, accompanied by Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault. In the Rasteau area, the soil is calcareous-clayey, with a blue clay subsoil, distributed on hills and terraces. Here too, yields are strictly limited, varying between 30 and 42 hectoliters per hectare.

Faithful to the principle that "a good wine requires good grapes," the Domaine de Beaurenard has adopted natural cultivation practices for over half a century, guaranteeing respect for the environment and the preservation of the qualities of the soil over time. The harvest is entirely manual, and in the modern cellars, completely renovated in 1988, tradition and innovation come together. The fermentations are long, lasting from 15 days to a month, always under temperature control. Only indigenous yeasts are used, and the refinement takes place in large barrels, all to obtain wines with abundant, soft tannins and deep colours.

Description of the Wine:

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the result of the harmonious composition of the "13 vines," in which the Grenache grape stands out, accompanied by Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault. The terroir is a mosaic of vineyards planted on limestone and gravelly soils, with a base of iron-enriched clay. The harvest is manual and the careful selection of the grapes takes place directly in the vineyard. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in steel tanks, followed by 12 months aging in large barrels. This wine, emblem of the Domaine de Beaurenard, is the expression of the diversity and complementarity of the terroirs and grape varieties of the appellation. In the mouth, it offers a juicy profile with a soft texture and delicate aromas, maintaining constant freshness.

Recommended pairings:

This Châteauneuf-du-Pape pairs beautifully with dishes such as roast beef and game meat, as well as mature cheeses.
