The Bricco delle Viole is the heart and soul of G.D. Vajra's philosophy: a Barolo of rare elegance, born among the highest and brightest vineyards in the municipality of Barolo. From historic vines (planted in 1931, 1949 and 1968) cultivated according to organic farming principles, this iconic cru expresses the utmost finesse of Nebbiolo. Manual, careful and selective harvesting precedes traditional winemaking with long maceration (up to 51 days) and two years of aging in large Slavonian oak barrels. The 2021 vintage, harvested between October 13 and 18, stands out for its phenolic maturity, balanced acidity, and slow, delicate fermentations. The result is a complex and ethereal wine. On the nose, notes of violets, fresh flowers, blackcurrant, incense, and eucalyptus are perceived. On the palate, it is deep, silky, with finely sculpted tannins and a long mineral finish. Ideal with important dishes such as braised meats, game, white truffle, aged cheeses or simply to be enjoyed alone, meditatively.
