Barolo DOCG "Campè" 2008 – La Spinetta
A Barolo that carries with it the age and depth of Piedmontese tradition, the 2008 "Campè" from La Spinetta winery is a testament to the elegance of pure Nebbiolo grapes. The grapes come from south-facing vineyards, on alluvial calcareous-clay soil in the Campè vineyard in Grinzane Cavour (CN).
The winemaking process involves maceration and alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks for approximately 16 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels (about 70% new) and aging in wood for approximately 24 months. Subsequently, the wine remains in the bottle for at least 12 months before being released onto the market.
In the glass, it presents an intense ruby red with orange reflections. On the nose, it reveals a refined and complex bouquet, where rose petals, mint, fennel, plum, and black cherry emerge, leading to subtle notes of white truffle and undergrowth.
On the palate, it offers a balance between power and finesse: the structure is well-defined, the tannins are velvety yet present, the freshness is calibrated, and the finish is long, elegant, and persistent.
An ideal wine for special occasions, perfect with rich red meats, braised dishes, game, and important dishes of Piedmontese cuisine.
