"Cinerino" – Marziano Abbona
Viognier from Langa, inspired by the Rhône, born in the Piedmontese hills
Cinerino is born from the Abbona family's passion for the great Viogniers of the Rhône Valley. The challenge of cultivating this noble grape variety on the hills of Dogliani, next to the winery, is now a successful reality, recognized for its personality, freshness, and aromatic charm.
The name pays homage to the Grey Heron, which often lands on the small lake a few steps from the rows of vines.
The grapes come from approximately 20-year-old vines, vinified with careful skin maceration and fermentation in acacia barrels, with frequent bâtonnage and aging on the lees for several months.
No malolactic fermentation, to preserve all the aromatic vibrancy of the varietal.
In the glass, it presents a deep straw yellow with golden reflections.
On the nose, it is intense and refined, with aromas of acacia honey, white flowers, peach, and citrus zest.
On the palate, it is rich, soft, and enveloping, with a surprising freshness that gives balance and great drinkability.
Perfect as an aperitif or paired with fish, oysters, delicate risottos, and soft blue cheeses, Cinerino is a white wine of character and uniqueness.
A Piedmontese Viognier that speaks French, but with a deeply Langhe soul.
