Borgogno e Carbone Barolo DOCG “Perno" Vigna Santo Stefano”

Borgogno e Carbone's Barolo "Perno Vigna Santo Stefano" originates from a project that intertwines friendship, territory, and artisanal vision. A wine rooted in the Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva (Additional Geographical Mention) of Perno, in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba, one of the most suitable and prestigious areas of the Barolo region.

The grapes, 100% Nebbiolo, come from old vines cultivated at an altitude of approximately 300 meters on complex soils, where sand, clay, and limestone contribute to defining a profile of great elegance and depth. Vinification occurs naturally, with spontaneous fermentation by indigenous yeasts, while aging continues for about 24 months in large oak barrels, followed by further rest in the bottle.

In the glass, it presents a luminous garnet red. The bouquet is ample and layered: small red fruits and sour cherry in spirit intertwine with floral notes of rose and withered violet, then evolving towards deeper sensations of cocoa, dark spices, leather, and elegant balsamic hints.

On the palate, it initially displays an austere character, typical of more traditional Barolos, which progressively unfolds, revealing roundness, balance, and an intense yet perfectly integrated tannic structure. The freshness supports the sip, accompanying it towards a long, persistent, and highly elegant finish.

A wine of structure and personality, ideal paired with red meats, game, roasts, and rich traditional dishes, but also capable of evolving over time, offering new nuances with bottle aging.

An authentic and refined Barolo, precisely interpreting the prestige of the Perno cru and the deepest identity of the Langhe.
