Chartogne Taillet is a small-scale winemaker known for its artisanal and biodynamic approach, which guarantees the production of Champagne of the highest quality and excellence.
One of the most representative wines of the cellar is "Les Couarres", a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir which stands out for its depth and sublime structure, accompanied by a pleasant saline note.
The scent of "Les Couarres" is made up of delicate and fragrant nuances of pastry, dried fruit and yeast, with a delicious addition of apple, pear, citrus fruits and yellow pulp fruit.
This Champagne stands out for its structure, harmony and extraordinary freshness, with an exceptional roundness and body on the palate, which combines pleasantly with an unusual salinity, contributing to an incredibly long persistence.
The Domaine Chartogne Taillet estate is located in Merfy, in the Montagne de Reims. The winemaking takes place using indigenous yeasts, with a malolactic fermentation that develops naturally, followed by aging on its own yeasts in French oak barrels for a period of between 3 and 7 years. Finally, the wine ages in the bottle for approximately 36 months on the yeasts. No filtration or clarification is carried out. The dose of added sugar is approximately 4 g/L.
