Description of Susucaru 2020 by Frank Cornelissen

An intense ruby ​​red color, tending towards violet and slightly hazy, anticipates a unique sensorial experience. Fine and delicate notes of small red fruits, mineral nuances, citrus peel, licorice, black pepper and cloves emerge. On the palate, an elegant, fragrant, frank and mineral taste is revealed, characterized by a prominent personality.

The exceptional "Susucaru" Rosso comes from Nerello Mascalese grapes, with small additions of Minella Nera, Alicante, Bouschet, Nerello Cappuccio and Minella Bianco. This fine selection comes from ungrafted vines that are over 50 years old and grow on the northern slopes of Etna, at around 600 meters above sea level. In the vineyard, a natural approach has always been respected, without the use of chemical or synthetic substances or any type of treatment. The territory, rich in peculiarities, and the meticulous manual selection of the bunches prepare the ground for spontaneous fermentation in fiberglass tanks, followed by refinement for several months in the same. Only light filtration with 3 micron cartridges takes place before bottling, preserving the authenticity of the wine.
